Thomas B. Wiggin is a Partner at HDRB&B with over three decades of deep-rooted experience in real estate law and mortgage finance. His practice is anchored in real estate transactions, complemented by expertise in complex commercial litigation, trusts & estates, and employment.
At HDRB&B, Thomas handles the full spectrum of commercial and residential real estate matters in NY and NJ, including property acquisitions and sales, closings, lease negotiations, and complex banking transactions. With a sharp eye for potential pitfalls, he works proactively to eliminate roadblocks before they disrupt a deal. His ability to anticipate challenges and craft strategic solutions stems from years of representing both buyers and sellers and an insider’s understanding of lending practices.
Beyond real estate, Thomas handles complex commercial disputes, bringing sharp legal insight and business acumen to high-stakes litigation. He also is skilled in helping new and old companies with their business contracts and the purchasing and sale of assets. He also regularly advises individuals and families on estate planning, helping them structure assets, trusts, and wills to help secure their financial future.
Before joining HDRB&B, Thomas built an extensive career in litigation, real estate law, and mortgage finance. He has established strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, executives, and some of New York City’s most prominent developers and brokerages, including The Related Companies, Rockrose Development, The Millennium Group, Douglas Elliman, Compass, Corcoran Group and NestSeekers. His work with leading financial institutions like Chase, Citibank, Citizens Bank and numerous mortgage banks, particularly in real estate banking transactions, structuring mortgage programs for condominium and co-op purchases, gives him a rare blend of legal, financial, and industry insight that few attorneys can match.
Beyond his practice, Thomas is passionate about shaping the next generation of real estate professionals. He has served as an instructor at the New York Real Estate Institute and has led continuing education (CE) courses for real estate brokers. He holds a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. from George Washington University.
Thomas is an avid golfer and has two recent hole in one’s.
