Maralee Sanders is an Associate in HDRB&B’s Employment Department. Maralee provides advice and counseling to both employers and individuals. Ms. Sanders drafts and negotiates employment and separation agreements on behalf of employers and executives, including addressing issues such as executive compensation, restrictive covenants, and other terms of employment. She provides advice to employers on federal and state harassment and discrimination laws, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), wage and hour laws, proper classification of employees and independent contractors, hiring and firing, and performance management. Maralee drafts comprehensive policy and practices handbooks to ensure compliance with federal and state law. Maralee frequently trains management and non-supervisory employees on topics including the prevention of harassment and discrimination, wage and hour law compliance, workplace violence and bullying, and ADA and FMLA laws. Additionally, Ms. Sanders conducts internal investigations in matters involving workplace misconduct including but not limited to discrimination, harassment and bullying.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, Maralee supports business clients by providing guidance on emerging employee issues, including federal leaves, evolving state closures and guidelines, and other related business issues. Maralee also advises individuals on complex unemployment and disability related inquiries as a result of the pandemic.

Prior to joining HDRB&B in 2018, Maralee was an Associate at Goldberg Segalla and represented employers in workers’ compensation matters throughout New Jersey.
