New NYC Employee Bill of Rights Posting Requirements

Starting July 1, 2024, New York City employers will be required to notify their employees about the updated Workers’ Bill of Rights and post it in a conspicuous place. According to the NYC Council, the Workers’ Bill of Rights is aimed at informing employees, regardless of immigration status, of their rights under federal, state, and NYC laws.

The poster must be “conspicuously” displayed in the workplace and provided to current employees and new hires for employers to comply with the law. Employers must also post it to their intranet or mobile app if they offer one for employees to use. The poster has the words “Know your rights at work” displayed in 12 different languages and has a QR code prominently displayed that directs workers to the Bill of Rights website. An example of the poster has been provided above to ensure you are displaying the correct one.

Please contact Heather Adelman at hadelman@hdrbb.com or Maralee Sanders at msanders@hdrbb.com if you would like us to provide you with the link to the poster when it becomes available, or if you have other implementation questions or concerns.
