Jessica L. Franklin is a Partner in HDRB&B’s Miami office and a member of the firm’s Private Lending Group. She represents private lenders in real estate-secured transactions, including acquisition, development, and construction financing. She also advises developers, builders, and investors on a broad range of business and commercial real estate matters with a focus on structuring and closing sophisticated lending deals throughout Florida. Her practice also includes outside general counsel services and day-to-day business advisory work for clients active in one of the country’s fastest-moving real estate markets. Jessica counsels clients through every stage of the development cycle from initial structuring and due diligence through closing, construction, and long-term operations. Her experience includes purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, construction contracts, joint ventures, leases, and other core deal documents, as well as advising on permitting, compliance, and risk management issues that can impact timing, cost, and execution. With deep roots in the South Florida market, Jessica brings significant transactional experience, market knowledge and strong relationships across the region’s lending and development community. Known for being highly responsive and solutions-oriented, Jessica is able to cut through the complexity of a deal and keep the transaction moving efficiently toward closing. Prior to joining the firm, Jessica served as Of Counsel at Dickinson Wright PLLC, where she advised developers, construction companies, and industry stakeholders on real estate development and construction matters throughout Florida, including projects in the hospitality and senior living sectors. Earlier in her career, she held roles at several Florida firms and in-house organizations, building broad experience in commercial transactions, corporate counseling, and real estate operations, further enhanced by her background as a licensed Florida real estate broker. Jessica earned her J.D. from Florida International University College of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Queens College, where she attended on a full tennis scholarship as an NCAA Division II student-athlete. During law school, she also served as a legal intern with the Miami Marlins.
