Our Private Lending Group handles high-volume real estate transactions on behalf of prominent lenders, with a strong reputation forprotecting client interests, resolving complex title or due diligence hurdles, and bringing high-stakes deals to successful closings.

We are seeking an energetic, hardworking, and detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal to join our thriving Private Lending team in Short Hills, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

  • Full Lifecycle Transaction Management: Coordinate and manage regional real estate loan files from inception to final closing, ensuring all critical milestones, compliance rules, and stringent deadlines are met.
  • Comprehensive Document Preparation: Draft high-quality commercial loan documents, closing disclosures, settlement statements, and detailed closing instructions for review by firm attorneys.
  • Due Diligence & Title Clearance: Perform in-depth analyses of title commitments, search reports, property surveys, and zoning/organizational documents. Identify title clouds and proactively coordinate with title agencies to clear conditions.
  • Closing Coordination: Direct and arrange structured closing schedules with clients, borrowers, brokers,administrative staff, title companies, and internal attorneys; compile final closing binders and handle post-closing distribution.
  • Client & Partner Communication: Serve as the firm’s primary, professional point of contact for external mortgage lenders, private brokers, title agents, and counsel, delivering proactive updates on transaction status.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Professional Experience: 1 to 3 years of dedicated paralegal experience in residential or commercial real estate transactions. Specific experience representing private or institutional lenders is highly preferred.
  • Operational Agility: Highly organized with a proven ability to multitask, prioritize high-priority projects, and maintain composure in a busy, time-sensitive environment.
  • Tech-Savvy Skillset: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to rapidly adapt to and learn the firm’s proprietary practices, software systems, and transactional workflows.
  • Dedication and Integrity: Strong professional work ethic, unmatched attention to detail, and a willingness to occasionally work extended hours or stay late as needed to guarantee successful, on-time transactional closings.
  • Professional Credential: A current Notary Public commission in New Jersey is strongly preferred (or a willingness to obtain commission upon hire).

Work Structure, Compensation & Benefits

Training & Hybrid Flexibility: This position operates out of our Short Hills, New Jersey office. Candidates will complete intensive, hands-on, in-office training during their onboarding period. Once training is successfully completed and operational autonomy is demonstrated, the firm offers a hybrid work schedule.

Compensation Program:

  • Base Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 annually, commensurate with real estate and lending transaction experience.
  • Bonus Opportunity: Eligible for an annual performance-based discretionary bonus program, based on. individual diligence and contributions to team transaction targets.

Pay Range: $155,000-$200,000


Position Summary:

Hartmann Doherty Rosa Berman & Bulbulia LLP, a 35-attorney firm with offices in New Jersey and New York, is looking to hire a litigation associate with 3-7 years’ experience who is interested in joining the firm’s busy and varied Litigation & White-Collar Criminal Group in the firm’s main Hackensack, NJ office. Candidate must be admitted in both New Jersey/New York (or be able to waive in promptly) and able to oversee day-to-day management of cases in New Jersey and New York state and federal courts. Experience in one or more of the following areas required: commercial litigation, estate litigation, employment litigation, federal criminal defense. Familiarity with NJ Rules of Court, New York CPLR, SCPA and Commercial Division rules preferred.

In addition, the ideal candidate should have the following skills:

  • State court or federal court clerkship;
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills;
  • Experience managing litigation;
  • Experience appearing in court, taking depositions, and interfacing with clients;
  • Trial experience a plus.
