Adam J. Casner is an Associate in HDRB&B’s Government and Land Use Departments leveraging his extensive legal experience to assist boroughs and municipalities in a myriad of legal matters. Adam advises clients on tax appeals matters, Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) matters, and represents clients in litigation, hearings, and negotiations, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, Adam extends his expertise to the firm’s Real Estate Department, focusing on landlord-tenant matters and related litigation.

Before joining HDRB&B, Adam ran his own solo practice, offering personalized legal services in areas including corporate governance, commercial and residential real estate, employment law, commercial litigation, and contract law. He served as Of Counsel to a boutique firm specializing in commercial and partnership litigation and provided critical advice on licensing and compliance in the burgeoning cannabis industry in New Jersey.

Prior to launching his own practice, Adam was an Associate at Post Polak, P.A., where he was instrumental in handling transactional matters involving municipal government relationships and cannabis licensing and compliance, advising clients on legislative and policy changes, and assisting in transactional and litigation matters involving municipal law, land use, and business law.

Adam served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Thomas R. Vena, J.S.C., Law Division, Civil Part, acquiring an in-depth understanding of civil litigation processes and the workings of the judicial system. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and graduated with honors from Montclair State University, where he received his B.A. in Music Theory & Composition.
