Aliza F. Burns practices in the area of Trusts and Estates. Aliza counsels clients on estate planning and related tax matters, estate and trust administration, charitable giving and the operation of charitable organizations and closely held businesses. Highlights of her practice experience include:
- Creating wills, revocable trusts, insurance trusts, family trusts, GRATs, QPRTs and annual exclusion trusts; and
- Advising clients in connection with the creation and operation of private foundations and assisting large nonprofit organizations with estate and gift matters.
Before joining HDRBB, Aliza was an associate for eight years in the Personal Representation Department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City. Aliza received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Barnard College, where she was awarded Phi Beta Kappa.
